Probably the best restaurant in Sintra. This is a place where the owner personally takes care of the guests, and where you truly feel the spirit of authentic Portugal. The staff may not speak perfect English, but with their great sense of humor and the universal language of hospitality, communication is effortless. The wine selection is excellent. The codfish is exceptionally prepared, and the young sheep cheese really stands out compared to similar dishes served elsewhere. Prices are slightly higher, but they fit the overall standard of Sintra’s tourist area — and if you’re reading this, you’re most likely a tourist yourself. The space is authentic and wonderfully cozy. Tables are well spaced, giving you comfort and privacy. Highly recommended. ~ Nemanja K

Un restaurante magnífico, impresionante! No solo la comida, de una calidad impresionante; ni el servicio, atentísimo, siempre pendiente, profesional y familiar; ni el local en sí, bonito, espacioso, exquisitamente decorado... Sino todo el conjunto, que es una maravilla. Sin duda alguna uno de los mejores restaurantes de la zona Lisboa-Estoril-Cascais-Sintra. Totalmente aconsejable. ~ Luis R

Fuimos a probar comer en A Raposa por las buenas referencias leídas y superó con creces nuestras expectativas. Sergio nos atendió de manera excepcional. Hacía tiempo que no disfrutábamos de una comida con tantos matices de sabores. No nos defraudaron ninguno de los platos que pedimos. El salón pequeño, acogedor y decorado con exquisitez. Adorei a comida (os parabéns ao chefe), o vinho recomendado foi a melhor escolha e sem dúvida o atendimento tem de ser enaltecido pois é dos pequenos detalhes que é feita a diferença e quando somos atendidos por uma senhora que nos coloca na mesa com vista para o castelo enquando canta um fado seguindo um menu delicioso... Fantastisch! Ein absolutes Kleinod, sehr, sehr fein! Das frische Brot mit Olivenöl und Balsamicokaramell ist zum Niederknien, die Weinempfehlung hervorragend und zum Abschluss der Kleine Schokoladenkuchen mit salzigem Karamelleis. Das Ambiente ist sehr geschmackvoll. Kein Vergleich zu den sonstigen Touristenspelunken. Das ist Küche auf hohem Niveau! ~ Ich N

Тільки цей ресторан задовільнив мій смак в повному обсязі. Кожна страва пропрацьована ретельним чином і доведена до високого рівня, гідного ресторану. Інтер'єр чарівний, а акустика ... вау. Restaurant chic avec une nourriture excellente ! Le restaurant est situé dans Sintra dans un cadre très discret. Les plats sont très bien présentés, la cuisine est raffinée. Chaque bouchée est un vrai délice et regorge de saveurs. Le vin était tout aussi bon ! Tout était parfait de l'accueil au service. A Raposa est dans mon top 3 des restaurant que j'ai pu faire ! Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés ! ~ Thiphaine V

Une très très belle découverte à Sintra ! Très bon accueil alors que nous sommes arrivés très tardivement pour le déjeuner du midi. Excellents plats, notamment le boudin, le carpaccio, le porc…le serveur est adorable et le chef également. Un lieu typique avec une nourriture locale savoureuse. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés ! In a small alley the center of Sintra you will find a beautiful restaurant that you will love from the first bite. A very nice high ceiling in a classic designed big room we had a very good lunch ( that was like a good dinner) and if we would stay until the evening we would come back for sure. We started with a fresh backed corn bread with olive oil and balsamic cream caramel following by fig carpaccio and Iberian ham (wow) Arugula salad with feta cheese, quince and pineapple ( 2nd wow) For main course we ordered Sirloin beef steak ( came perfect medium) And an Iberian pork cheek in red wine. Both were perfectly done and very tasty. We had a good dessert tea and espresso . If you are in Sintra and you know to appreciate a delicate gourmet food don’t miss this restaurant. Graziella, our lovely host and server greeted us at the door after we rang the bell. She doesn't speak much English but she doesn't need to. She s intuitive from experience. The food was exceptional. The ambiance of the room is scrumptious, just what we needed after being in Portugal for a month. The food was delicious! We google translated our delight of the service and food amd then Graziella surprised us all with her beautiful Fado. She turned down the music and sang so beautiful! What an amazing treat! We made reservations for another night the following week to treat a friend. What a blessing Sergio has with Graziella! Highly reccomended. ~ Sally M

Super restaurant, ils ont accepté de nous recevoir a 14:30 alors que la salle était vide. On a donc atterri dans un restau quasi privatisé. Serveur et gérant sympa. Cuisine vraiment top jusqu'au dessert. Allez y le soir pour un diner au chandelle qui se prêtera d'avantage a l'ambiance du lieu. ~ Valentin l

Por onde começar? Espaço elegante a acolhedor, atendimento digno de 5 estrelas, a sra muito atenciosa e profissional, acaba por tornar toda a experiência ainda melhor. Deliciosa opção de restaurante com comida portuguesa, com destaque para frutos do mar. Ambiente acolhedor, poucas mesas e bem romântico. É necessário reservar pois o lugar é pequeno e costuma ser bem concorrido. / Delicious restaurant with Portuguese cousine, specially food. Superbe restaurant, assiettes fumantes, poulpe de très bonne qualité. La musique y est super, l'ambiance très agréable et la salle d'une autre époque. La patronne, sous ses airs un peu bourru, cache à n'en pas douter un cœur d'or et nous avons senti sa chaleur grâce à sa main posée avec tendresse sur notre épaule. À essayer! ~ Virginie d

Wollten unbedingt das Ambiente hier erleben. Wirtin und Wirt älteren Jahrgangs mit verstecktem Humor und Freundlichkeit. Das Ambiente in der alten Villa ist der Hammer. Tolle Hintergrundsmusik. Stylische Inneneinrichtung. Wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt, auch wenn wir nur einen leckeren Wein mit Brot konsumiert haben. Jederzeit zu empfehlen, wer Wert auf Styl, gute Küche, gediegenes Ambiente legt. ~ Kristin K

Questa cena è stata memorabile per diverse ragioni. La location è molto bella ed elegante, l’ottima musica di sottofondo, l’ottimo cibo e la calorosa accoglienza del proprietario. Dulcis in fondo, alla fine della cena la signora ha cantato divinamente due canzoni in portoghese. Grazie per la magnifica serata. ~ Patty M

Read the reviews and had to try! Walked in and there was a small table outside. We were bought into a beautiful room inside where most people would eat. However, as the sun was shining, we wanted to sit outside and this request was accommodated. The chef personally came out to greet us and take our order. (This is cause we were there early I think). He was amazing!!! We didn't want a full meal and wanted loads of tapas that he made especially for us. It came out at a perfect pace and we were there about 2 hours and couldn't recommend the food enough. Very highly recommended if you love food and the personal touch. ~ Mark G

Como en casa. Tras una muy mala experiencia en un local cercano, entramos a comer en este restaurante, un sitio con pocas mesas, un salón amplio y con una decoración peculiar, muy agradable. Nos atendió la dueña del lugar que nos hizo sentir como en casa. Los precios son algo superiores a los de otros restaurantes de la zona, pero sin duda lo vale. Regalatevi una cena qui! Posto stupendo, fuori dalle vie turistiche e quindi autentico. La signora che vi accoglie è la vera attrazione del ristorante, all'inizio sembra burbera, ma concedetele qualche sorriso e chiedetele consiglio su cosa ordinare o su che vino abbinare e vi coccolerà tutta sera! Fenomenale! Cibo squisito, ottime alternative sia di carne che di pesce e qualcosina di vegetariano, gustoso, ben preparato, OTTIMO! Andateci! ~ Ilaria T

Après une bonne journée à avoir arpenter les montées et descentes de Sintra, nous nous sommes rendus dans cet établissement suite aux commentaires des autres personnes. Et finalement nous n'avons pas été déçus : un cadre exceptionnel, une cuisine excellente et un bon service.Tout cela pour un prix final correct. Je recommande ! ~ Denis H

We had such a great evening here! We arrived a little before the restaurant opened without a reservation. The chef found us in his way and snuck us in. The hostess treated us like family and taught us a few words of Portuguese. The food was fantastic. I had cod with black olive paste and caramelized onions and my s.o. Had the squid ink risotto with shrimp, cod and octopus. Both dishes were fantastic. Dessert equally great. And two glasses of wine and bread! Atmosphere is beautiful— large windows, beautifully (and tastefully) painted ceiling. Lighting was just right. Obrigada for a fantastic meal! ~ Rebecca T
